More about our Minister...
Rev. Jean commenced her role as minister at Sapphire Coast Uniting Churches in September 2020, settling into the manse at Tura Beach with husband Geoff.
Jean is a Deacon in the Uniting Church in Australia. That means her call to minister was more towards the scattered than the gathered. She has always seen God in action and her ministry has largely been to people outside the church doors. Her joy has been in translating religious talk and scripture into practical support for people in crisis. Scripture in the real world. As a trained spiritual director, Jean would never tell people what to think but rather encourage people to explore and wonder, to question and dig deeper and find a realistic, mature, personal faith that is grounded, practical and durable.
Jean enjoys liturgical writing, music and poetry. She says she is blessed at this stage in her life to have been called to a friendly, inclusive congregation, eager to explore and discuss growing faith.
